I know what you’re thinking. What?! Plan a romantic honeymoon in Las Vegas. This guide to adventure, dining, and relaxation in Las Vegas, Nevada, can be a lovely city to visit.
With the weather, mountains, tourist attractions, alcohol, money, and tours, all in a town that is 4.2. miles long. Yes, I get it, it’s Las Vegas, the city of Sin, but let me explain.
Las Vegas has so much to do for newlyweds that you don’t think of. To the shows, dining, visiting different hotels, relaxing at the pools or spas, and taking tours. It can be so much fun for a young newlywed.
Since my husband and I planned our honeymoon to Las Vegas, I want to share five activities you can do on a 3-night stay in Viva Las Vegas. Read on as I show you what to do, where to eat, play, relax, and more.

1. Plan to Explore the Las Vegas Strip.
When you first arrive in Las Vegas, hopefully, the two of you arrive in the late morning or early afternoon, so you have some time to do something for the day. If you’re coming from the East Coast, you will feel like you are still three hours ahead, but not ready for bed yet, so you can head to the strip to explore.
First, you should get to your hotel/resort, check in, put your luggage or carry-ons in the room, and head out to the strip. There are many things to do on the strip, so you must place your items in the room before heading out.
Some hotels/resorts have rides and casinos if you like to gamble and play. Just be careful with gambling your money, set a low budget, and if you don’t hit your money goal to win, then walk away.
You don’t want to use up all your money on the first day and end up stuck in Vegas without a way home. We noticed a lot of people who were homeless with their suitcases.
Even the staff informed us that some people gambled their airplane ticket and lost. It’s so sad, so be smart and budget. You only have cash for the amount to spend, and that’s it.
Don’t miss the fountains at the Bellagio, where the music plays and the water moves to the music. Or ride on the High Roller Observation Wheel and get served alcohol while you ride and view Las Vegas from five hundred and fifty feet off the ground.
So, arrive early in Las Vegas so you have more to explore on your first night.
2. Plan a Show on the Las Vegas Strip.
We heard that Las Vegas is known for its world-class entertainment, right? Instead of gambling, you should book a ticket to a Cirque du Soleil show, attend a concert, or catch a comedy act for an ultimate memorable evening.
If you want to see a show for free, you may find a vendor out on the strip offering free tickets. You may need to attend a timeshare presentation to get these free tickets.
I know, eww, but just know you’re helping them out by showing up, just don’t sign up for a timeshare unless you want to pay for a vacation home you don’t own, and you can only arrive when it’s available to you and your family.
The shows offered were not bad; it was more of a walk-through than a sit-down show. We explored the Shark Reef Aquarium with reptiles, turtles, and fish.
The second show was reliving the events of the Titanic. You explore the ship as if you were on it. We explored the deck, feeling the cold air, viewing the small staterooms where people experiencing poverty slept, and the iceberg the ship hit before it went down.
Then the names of the people who died that night were on a wall, and it felt so surreal and extremely sad. However, the history and how they set up this exhibit are worth the show.

3. Plan to Dine on the Las Vegas Strip.
There are hundreds of restaurants in Las Vegas, and all of the hotels/resorts on the strip have restaurants. From affordable buffets to 5-star restaurants, the choice is yours.
The best thing to do is research the type of food you love to eat. Using Google is a great way to search for restaurants, or using TripAdvisor for ratings can help you make the final decision.
If you can afford to splurge, plan a romantic dinner at the Lakeside restaurant in the Wynn hotel. This restaurant serves raw and chilled seafood, caviar, and more. The price, well, be prepared to spend two hundred dollars for two.
However, you can always choose a buffet if you’re on a budget. Just be sure to check for buffets, as of March 2025, the strip has closed about eight buffets. We enjoyed the Buffet at the Luxor hotel, but it closed down.
Here is another idea. If you love to chill in, watch movies or a show in the hotel room, you can order room service through Uber Eats and enjoy a quiet evening.
Tip for lunch, snacks, and even breakfast. There are several CVS and Walgreens stores on and off the strip where you can shop and store it in your hotel room’s refrigerator. Try shopping on Uber Eats or Instacart to deliver your items while in the hotel room and save time.
4. Plan a Spa Day on the Las Vegas Strip.
If you received money as a wedding gift, like we did from our guests, then take some of that money to book a spa day for the two of you. This is a perfect way to relax from the nose of the strip, enjoy a massage, facial, or even a hot stone massage.
If you’re still feeling relaxed, enjoy the rest of your time at the pool, lying on a poolside lounge chair, taking in the sun, listening to the music, and enjoying the warm water. You can even buy a drink near the pool.
Some pools have a swim-up bar. Check the hotel/resort for pool information to learn what kind of pool it has. If you’re staying at a family-friendly resort, like Circus Circus, there will be a lot of children at the pool. So be sure to book the right hotel for your honeymoon experience.
Most hotels/resorts on the strip are not adults only, but you can find hotels with fewer kids because of the activities that may not be so fun for kids.
5. Plan for a Tour over the Las Vegas Strip.
Planning a tour will give you a better experience of your honeymoon stay in Las Vegas. You can book a helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip at night or the Grand Canyon.
Most people will just party all day and all night, but there are so many tours you can book to have the ultimate experience in Las Vegas. There are private tours, adventure tours, Hoover Dam excursions, Grand Canyon bus tours, or even self-guided tours to Fremont Street.
Since I’m from Philadelphia, taking a bus on the strip to Old Vegas and visiting Fremont Street was easy. The public bus runs up and down the strip all night and throughout Las Vegas.
Just be smart about your decisions. I’m used to city life, so we experienced someone running on the bus to escape someone hurting them. The cops were nearby, so they got them off the bus and handled the situation.
Yes, police officers are everywhere, on every strip block, in new and old Vegas. You will be safe, but never let your guard down, and watch your pockets and purse. Things do happen.

Book your next Las Vegas trip on or off the Strip.
