Picture this: the sun on your face, the sand between your toes, and everything from shopping to family fun just minutes away.
If you missed my last blog about staying in a condo with a full kitchen, which can be a huge money saver, be sure to check that out too.
Now let me show you 13 must-do activities in Myrtle Beach so you can spend less time planning and more time enjoying your trip.
Coastal Family Adventures, the Beach, Rides, Games, and Aquarium.
Depending on how long you plan to stay, you should narrow your options to stay on budget. Here are 5 of Myrtle Beach’s 13 must-do activities for your family getaway on your vacation.
- Head to the Sunny Sandy Beach. Of course, going to the beach is a must. Be sure to pack the essentials like a beach bag, cart, tents, chairs, cooler, sandals, and bring them to the beach for the ultimate vacation.
- Face your fears on the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. If you’re not afraid of heights, take the family to this iconic Ferris wheel. It’s right near the boardwalk. You and the family will have stunning coastline views, and it’s a great way to see what’s in the area from above. View ticket prices and more.
- Visit Ripley’s Aquarium. While in the area, check out this amazing aquarium on Broadway at the Beach. Enjoy the aquarium and see sharks, fish, and more. Also, watch a show while learning about marine life.
- Must Visit Broadway at the Beach. This area is full of entertainment that offers must-see attractions like the WonderWorks museum, escape games, mirror maze, water park, and so much more. There’s something fun for everyone to do at Broadway at the Beach.
- Go Crazy at the Family Kingdom Amusement Park. This amusement park is by the seaside and offers rides, games, and attractions for everyone. It’s like a carnival at the beach and a classic experience!
My family and I were only there for 2 nights, so we chose two activities. Plus, it was hot outside, so the beach was our best option.

Where to Dine on this Coastal Family Adventures?
There are so many options to choose from for dining out. There’s meat, international cuisines, American traditional dishes, vegan, and seafood. So I found some restaurants for families who are pescatarian like us.
- Dine at the Sea Captain’s House. This beautiful upscale restaurant sits on the oceanfront with a beach view. Dine inside or outside at this restaurant that offers a variety of seafood options plus a gluten-free menu. Don’t worry about the dairy; you can ask the waiter for dishes without dairy. Check out the menu on their website.
- Vegan Pizza at Mellow Mushroom. Even though this restaurant is all around Atlanta, Georgia, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it is known for its tasty vegan and gluten-free pizzas. They have plenty of fresh toppings, dairy-free cheese, delish green salad choices, and fresh-baked sweets. You can order online and have them deliver it to your hotel.
- All seafood at The Flying Fish Public Market & Grill. This flying fish is on Broadway at the Beach, right by the waterfront. Their fresh seafood satisfies your taste buds and is excellent for dietary restrictions. If you want a good view of the Atlantic Ocean while you dine, you can make reservations for you and your family, or you can order online to enjoy at your hotel with a good movie for the night.
- It’s a vibe at King Street Grille. This family-friendly American sports bar offers a variety of American grill foods, including seafood, and allergy options on the menu. This restaurant is suitable for sports fans. TV screens around the place give the whole family a fun and relaxed vibe.
Before you dine out or order in, check the dietary restrictions of every restaurant with the waiter or on their website.
Coastal Family Adventures, and Shop Till You Drop!
Grab your wallet and head back to Broadway on the Beach to shop for souvenirs, clothing, beach attire, children’s toys, and more.
1. Go to the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove. This family-owned shop has fun and quirky items like seashells, beachy home decor, souvenirs, t-shirts, beach gear, and local crafts. Stop in and shop for someone you love with some Myrtle Beach items, making them feel like they were at the beach with you.
2. Shop Beachy at the Boardwalk Beachwear. Did you or someone on this vacation forget something? That’s fine, just shop at the Boardwalk Beachwear for some beach attire, hats, or sun protection. There’s more than just clothes; they have cute collectibles, souvenirs, towels, and even plus-size clothing. Stop by to see more of what they have to offer.
3. Head to the I Love Sugar candy store. If you have a sweet tooth, this shop is like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory of sweets. It’s heaven to those parents and kids, where both feel like a CandyLand shop. Also, I’m one of those parents; I’m such a big kid.
4. Buy some Disney Gifts at the Beach. If you’re looking for Disney fun, shop at the Disney Store at the Beach. This shop makes you feel like you’re in Disney by the beach with all their Disney items like apparel, accessories, costumes, and more. Feel like Florida on a Disney vacation vibe in South Carolina.
Shopping on Broadway at the Beach can be exciting and expensive. Just be sure you keep a budget of what you’re willing to spend on souvenirs and something for yourself.
