Need some Valentine’s Day ideas to plan a romantic weekend with you and your husband away from the kids and home? It’s time for a break, to have fun, or relax.

You could book a hotel or a vacation home, set the room with Valentine’s Day decorations, make reservations for dinner, plan a tour, and book a spa. A romantic getaway is an excellent idea for you and your husband to relax and escape from the daily responsibilities for a couple of days.

So, I want to share some ideas and tips on how to set the mood just right for a romantic weekend for Valentine’s Day.

You may be thinking, shouldn’t my husband plan this romantic Valentine’s Day weekend for me?

Well, if your husband is like my husband, planning, arranging, and booking are not things he can handle. He is more like here is my card; pay for it, and I’ll be there. That is alright, especially if you want to go away, do things, and have fun. Some men don’t know what to do but are okay with everything; they will help pay for it and enjoy it.

So now we can put these ideas together and plan this romantic Valentine’s Day getaway for you and your husband. Download this planner as you plan your weekend.

There will be distractions if you’re trying to accomplish a romantic weekend at home without the kids around. For one, everyone knows where you live; neighbors, friends, or a family member may come by.

Plus, you may find some work to do around the house when you should be relaxing or at a spa for a couples massage.

The best Valentine’s Day idea is to book a hotel or vacation home away from home so you are not bothered. If you plan to drive or fly to a getaway, research the destination, prices on the hotel, things to do in that area, the best restaurants, and the weather.

Once you get to the hotel or vacation home, if you choose to, you can decorate the room for a romantic atmosphere, starting with ambient lighting and soft music.

Bring some plastic rose petals from a dollar or arts and crafts store and decorate the bedroom with rose petals and heart-shaped balloons.

Get some nice cozy plush pillows and blankets from Five Below or Target to place on the bed to give a luxury feel to the room.

A Valentine’s Day idea is for you and your husband to have a drink, or sparkling water, which can help set the mood for the weekend. You could bring a couple of plastic glasses to enjoy wine, champagne, or a drink of your choice and toast to the weekend.

Arrive for a local florist to deliver Valentine’s Day-themed fruit-shaped flowers with chocolates and a set of roses in an elegant vase to the room. Using battery-powered candles is safer and under the recommended guidelines of the hotel’s policy.

Since you two are always on the go when you’re home, you might want a night to order in and watch a movie on the television.

Or stay in bed longer one morning and order breakfast in bed through DoorDash, Uber Eats, or the hotel’s kitchen (if the property has a kitchen)

If you want to bring plasticware to the Valentine’s Day decor, buy a small set of elegant plastic plates, forks, and napkins.

Depending on the weather in your city, you can take a romantic stroll through the botanical gardens or a nearby park or reserve a horse and carriage ride. The weather fluctuates in Atlanta, Georgia. It could be a sunny afternoon, but there could be a cold chill at night, so bring a sweater.

You and your husband can research the best restaurant in town and view their menu for some Valentine’s Day menu, music, and decor for Valentine’s Day.

After eating, you can dance the night to music at a local dance club. Atlanta, Georgia, has a lounge called Slow Drag that plays 70’s soul, funk, jazz, and blues. Dancing is not your and your husband’s thing; you could purchase tickets to see a live play at the closest theater, or if you’re in Atlanta, check out Fox Theater.

You can add something to your weekend that is perfect, relaxing, and rejuvenating. Book a couples massage at a local spa or with the hotel and enjoy a therapeutic aromatherapy treatment.

Review the best spa or wellness center, the spa treatment options, and the prices of a local spa or wellness center. The spa may have a couples massage special with a romantic Valentine’s decor in the spa room, setting the romantic vibes in the air.

If you can add it to your budget, then plan to experience a wellness day.

If you love to view and sight-see, research who has the best guide tours for that city and arrange a time.

Attending a ride on a tour can be a great way to take in the scenery, learn about the city, cuddle up together, and take photos and videos for the digital album.

If you and your husband decide to stay in Atlanta, Georgia, rent a car, drive north Georgia, and check out the Chateau Elan in Braselton.

It’s about an hour’s drive from the city and has a beautiful vineyard where you can choose from more than any of their 30 different produced wine.

Depending on the day you are in Georgia, you could spoil each other at the Chateau Elan with a 5-course meal on Valentine’s Day.

So, are you ready to plan a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend for you and your husband?

I shared some ideas for planning this getaway; whether it’s a weekend or weekday, it’s time for the two of you to enjoy each other’s time, have fun, and relax.

When planning, consider the cost and time needed for this romantic getaway. You don’t want to spend more than you can afford and then be stressed after the trip.

Use an itinerary to help plan the day, time, and cost. The amount of time for each activity and the distance from the place you’re staying to the activity you’re doing for the day.

There’s no rush to do everything on your list. Write down the top 10 and break it down to 5 so you don’t feel overwhelmed trying to do it all.
