Do you need a family weekend vacation and you live in or near Georgia? Well, you can plan a family vacation to Myrtle Beach if you don’t feel like heading to Florida.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is a perfect choice for a family vacation that blends beach fun, entertainment, and relaxation.

It’s especially great for families with kids, teens, and young adults because there’s truly something for everyone—from waterparks and shows to shopping and good food.

My husband and I planned a trip for our family of four. We are a married couple in our 40s, with a pre-teen daughter and a young adult son.

Since I have a history of planning, booking, and managing a vacation for my customers, and our family I created this blog with some helpful tips, where to stay, things to do for everyone, and even a itinerary that you can use for your future vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

My family and I have planned a Myrtle Beach family weekend vacation for Labor Day and I share some of the experiences and other things to do in Myrtle Beach. Just in case you missed it, view this link here of the blog and read more on that as well as where we stayed.

Myrtle Beach’s Family-Friendly Places to Stay.

There are so many resorts, hotels, and Vacation homes near the beach and all around Myrtle Beach, but here are a few to help you with making a choice for you and your family.

Be sure to check the reviews and select the dates that you want to go to see if these options are available for your stay.

I also shared a recent blog all about hotel booking tips and how to avoid surprise fees, because no one likes checking in excited and leaving confused about extra charges.

Myrtle Beach’s Family-Friendly Activities for All.

My husband and I are used to a Family Weekend Vacation on the Jersey shores, filled with many activities and the beaches. Myrtle Beach feels like that as well, and all in one town. There is so much to do near the beach, on the beach, on the streets, and around the area; it’s full of so much to do. Here are a few things that you can choose to do with your family, for a young adult and for a couples date.

For Dad & Mom (40s):

  • A relaxing spa day at the resort
  • Sunset walk on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
  • Dinner date at Sea Captain’s House (classic seafood with an ocean view)

Perfect for the Young Adult Son:

  • Golf or mini-golf (Myrtle Beach is the “Mini Golf Capital of the World”)
  • Myrtle Beach SkyWheel for amazing views
  • A night at Broadway at the Beach for shopping, nightlife, and attractions

Great for the Teenage Daughter:

  • Shopping at Coastal Grand Mall or Tanger Outlets
  • Visit to Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach
  • Fun photos and TikToks at the Boardwalk & SkyWheel

Activites for the Whole Family:

  • A day at Myrtle Waves Water Park
  • Dinner and a show at Medieval Times or Pirates Voyage Dinner Show
  • Beach day with sandcastles, games, and water fun

There’s also another blog that I previously spoke on for a Family Weekend Vacation with more activities in Myrtle Beach. View here to check it out. You’ll see what I’m talking about.

Why Does Myrtle Beach Work for Families?

What I love about Myrtle Beach is that it’s easy to drive to from many East Coast cities, especially in Georgia. It’s affordable compared to other beach destinations, and it offers a balance of fun and relaxation.

Families of all ages can enjoy the trip without anyone feeling left out. Like Atlantic City are better for adults because of all the casinos and they don’t allow kids in the casinos.

Plus the casino hotels are expensive, and I’m not a fan of the vacation looking motels.

If you’re planning your next family weekend vacation, consider Myrtle Beach. It’s the kind of place where you’ll come home with sand in your shoes, full bellies from great food like wild caught crab legs, and a whole lot of new family memories.

My family and I still talk about our family weekend vacation in Myrtle Beach and can’t wait to return.
